Hello, everyone! My name is Ewa and I am a piano and singing tutor who recently moved to Boxtel from London. Just like most of the music teachers you’d encounter, my life has always been full of music – I have been singing and dancing for as long as I can remember and started playing piano at the age of 7. However, it was with my first ever private piano tutee, 5 years ago, that I fell in love with music TEACHING. It amazes me to this day how big of an impact instrument lessons have on students’ concentration, self-discipline and sense of achievement… all while having fun!
When it comes to piano, my aim is to make my pupils as independent as possible – I introduce elements of music theory from the very beginning and always ask questions, revising their knowledge. One of the tools I love to use for more effective learning is incorporating elements of Dalcroze Eurhythmics into the lessons. Rather than absorb ‘dry’ facts, I challenge my students to experience and understand music naturally, through their bodies (…think body percussion and expressive, improvised movement). I also supply extra customised resources for support between lessons, so the students never feel stuck while practising on their own, nor develop incorrect habits.
Singing-wise, I am extremely passionate about guiding students to discover their own, true voice, which results in reclaiming full control over it (…think singing ease and flexibility one never thought possible!), as well as reaching total self-acceptance.
…and on top of that, every single lesson is lead in an extremely bubbly and encouraging atmosphere – it genuinely excites me to see my students progress and succeed (…making me wonder sometimes if their achievements don’t actually bring me more joy than those of my own :-)).
I have completed 15 years of formal music education: Primary Music School in Wadowice, Poland (piano performance), Secondary Music School in Bielsko-Biała, Poland (double diploma in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and piano performance) and Bachelor of Music with Honours (First Class) at Kingston University London, United Kingdom (singing performance). Right after graduating I opened my own private piano and singing studio in Kingston upon Thames and, throughout the years, regularly taught over 40 students – some of whom continued their lessons with me online, after my move to Boxtel. For the last 4 years I have also been preparing students for the internationally recognised ABRSM piano, singing and music theory exams, with 100% pass rate.
